Loven Contracting provided preconstruction and construction services as a completion contractor for the New Clinic Building at the Sunset Community Health Center in Yuma, Arizona. This new facility enables Sunset Health to offer an expanded range of services to their clients, including a new pharmacy and dentist office. The 13,242 SF, two-story wood and steel frame building, also consolidates the administration offices and training/conference rooms into one unified space and includes an upgraded parking lot and landscaping for the entire campus.
As a trusted and reliable partner for Sunset Health, Loven Contracting provided a fast and thorough preconstruction evaluation of the project. Our services included a budget review, subcontractor scope review, red-lined and updated drawings, additional design for incomplete drawings, and resurveying the site.
As a part of the value engineering process, Loven Contracting worked with the designer and client during the preconstruction phase to achieve significant savings through reducing the quantity of metal siding on the building, saving the client money both in first costs and in potential long term maintenance issues.

This project was awarded with the 2019 Best Interior Improvement Award, as presented by Engineering News Record (ENR).
Loven Contracting completed a 224,458SF remodel of the Little America Hotel Main Lodge and Guestroom Lodges located in Flagstaff, Arizona. This project transformed the aging 1972 hotel and lodge, both in design, and operational and systems efficiencies.
The revitalized hotel features a contemporary design with updated finishes, local textures, and natural elements and is now considered one of the most desirable hospitality options in Flagstaff, providing a wide range of accommodations.
Little America Hotel’s ability to maintain the majority of their revenue stream throughout the construction process was the key to the project’s success, and the construction team hit key phase dates for multiple temporary returns to 100% occupancy during the remodel. This was accomplished through strategic phasing of the work into single buildings with targeted completion for holidays and special events. A robust safety plan — enabling all other facilities to remain 100% functional throughout construction — was essential to a high quality experience for hotel guests and staff.
The scope of work included:
Potential long term savings were achieved via key system upgrades, including a new roof with open cell foam insulation on all renovated facilities, energy efficient LED lighting to meet APS Energy Efficiency Rebate standards, energy efficient HVAC system and controls, and water conserving fixtures.

Loven Contracting remodeled Flagstaff Medical Center’s new 39,085SF Women, Infant and Children’s (WIC) Department, spanning both 2nd and 3rd stories of the existing hospital.
This multi-phase project required dynamic and minimally invasive Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA), project management and safety plans. Our team minimized impact on adjacent departments and effectively performed construction within the 100% occupied and active facility.
This project includes extensive MEP tie-ins to the existing infrastructure and the use of temporary walls and monitored single points of access for all project personnel, material and tool travel. Appropriate security measures were essential in this sensitive environment, and team members performing work on-site were properly badged with photo ID. Regulations are enforced via required sign-in / out system, hourly “headcount” of personnel, and daily inventory of all tools upon hospital entrance.

Loven Contracting completed a successful remodel of the MRI and Ultrasound Suites at Flagstaff Medical Center. This project included removing and replacing the existing MRI imaging machine with new technology and MEP and structural upgrades to the MRI suite and adjacent Ultrasound facility for functionality and finishes.
Removal and replacement of the sensitive MRI equipment required the use of a crane. Working hand-in-hand with Flagstaff Medical Center staff, Loven Contracting developed a dynamic site safety plan to use this equipment on the active and occupied campus.

In 2017, the Barbara Antonsen Memorial Park received the Award of Merit under ENR 2017’s Best Project category.
Loven Contracting served as the CMAR Contractor on the new Barbara Antonsen Memorial Park in Sedona, Arizona. The park features new performance facilities, office spaces, public restrooms, a landscaped lawn, a shaded seating area, and a steel canopy for the new stage. Our team utilized step-by-step value optimization and value engineering processes while working closely with the City of Sedona to maintain the project budget.
Our construction services included extensive rock excavation and installation of park improvements. The native rock found at the new park site required hard excavation to create the foundation and utility trenching. To maintain the project schedule, Loven Contracting performed careful planning and scheduling daily. To maintain the steel canopy’s design aesthetic above the main stage, our team carefully reviewed and adhered to the drawing during fabrication to guarantee the highest quality outcome. The new features enable the park to host various activities for tourists and locals in Northern Arizona to enjoy.
